depressioNetdepressioNet is a not-for-profit organisation that offers a unique e-interactive human service for people impacted by mild to moderate depression, integrating professional and peer support services.

depressioNet seeks to provide professional support in the form of an online counselling, case management and referral service for eligible clients with mild to moderate depression.  Services are conducted utilising various electronic media, including the depressioNet website, discussion rooms and video conference, as well as podcasts.

The depressioNet Peer Support Service enables individuals the ability to communicate directly with others through the Online Communication Forums and Discussion Rooms.  The interactive forums allow for people impacted by depression to share their experiences and find empathic support, understanding, along with encouragement.  Trained Peer Support Volunteers provide 24hour peer-based care to ensure depressioNet is a safe and supportive online environment.

depressioNet Provides:

• A place for Australians to come and gain support for mild to moderate depression;
• A place where people can communicate with others who are going through similar circumstances and can in part relate to how they feel;
• Access to a broad range of services and  resources within Australia, including the Resources Service, which seeks to enable individual to locate Health Care Professionals, private & public services, support groups along with other relevant professionals and service in their area;
• A 'safety net' for people who don't know where to turn or who have lost hope;
• A support tool for relatives and friends;
• An Australian e-interactive service that is supportive and user friendly.
